The Maryborough Rifle and Pistol Club caters for a full range of competition shooting events including metallic silhouette prone rifle and also Olympic style target shooting with rifle and pistol.

On the outdoor ranges .22 calibre rifles and pistols are used. Air rifles and air pistols are used on the indoor ranges.

  • We're Back! The official re-opening of our Walker St range was held 18 February 2020 and was attended by Queensland Target Sports President Jamie Webb, Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O'brien and Councilor Denis Chapman.Normal club shooting has resumed as per the calendar.This year the club will also be hosting three prize shoots:Maryborough Rifle Championships (June)Maryborough Master Games (October)Maryborough Pistol Championships (October or November, date TBA).There will also be a come and try day held later this year for new shooters. Date TBA.

  • Council Approval Today we have been advised by Fraser Coast Council that we have approval to commence using our ranges for shooting. We are awaiting formal notification of this which we hope to receive in the very near future. A club meeting has been set for Sunday 2nd February, 1:30pm to discuss the shooting programme calender.  Hope to see as many members at that meeting so you can have an input to our calender.

  • Latest Progress on Range Reopening We have received Weapons Licensing approval from Police for the bottom range and top range.  We are now waiting for the Full Bore Club to have a second inspection of their range.  Once they have their approval, both clubs will seek approval from Fraser Coast Council for permission to commence shooting.  The estimated start shooting date is now February 2020.The prize shoots for this year will be held on the following dates:Wide Bay Championships 13 & 14 June 2020Maryborough Masters Games 17 & 18 October 2020

  • Masters Games 2019 - CANCELLED We regret to advise that we have decided to cancel this years Masters Games shoot.As you are aware there is substantial earthworks and maintenance works to be completed and we are putting all or effort and time into getting this completed so that we can get our Ranges reopened as soon as we can.When we do reopen we are considering holding a special event to mark the occasion and we will keep you informed of progress and information.Thanks to all the Members who have been working to get this done.

  • Wide Bay Championships 2019 – CANCELLED The Wide Bay Championships 2019 due to be held at Maryborough on the weekend of 27/28 July 2019 have been cancelled.In recent months since the official announcement on the sale of the land, club members have been busy catching up with all the building and ground maintenance not attended to over the last seven years while the range has been closed.  Much progress has been made with the range starting to take shape.  Also the club has recently received the lease conditions from the local Council.  An important stepping stone towards the range being reopened for shooting.  However one of the lease conditions are for all earthworks and ground maintenance to be complete prior to the club resuming ...
